Major Parkinson at Garage III
Major Parkinson at Garage III Originally uploaded by Alvedust
I played the new game ROCKBAND today and Yes.
I've never been the guitar-solo-type, so the bass-guitar is perfect for my kinda interest in this. The drumset is also a great way to actually learn how to play drums, as it's mainly keeping rhythm and timing things - you acquire real skills when playing. As for the singstar-element, you get better songs to sing (imho, though I probably haven't played enough singstar to have an opinion). Try going from primal screaming to hurt whispering in Radiohead's Creep, or rapping along in Beatie Boys' Sabotage. And let's not forget Foo Fighters' Learn to Fly.
In guitar hero, I'm a steady Medium in skills, but on Bass I can manage Hard, and woah, it's fun playing with three other people, building a "band career".
Enjoy it, those of you who get it after the release tomorrow! |

Major Parkinson played their first official concert in ages at Garage recently. One of the most energetic livebands alive and kicking, you can see their webpage here and listen to some of their music over at their myspace. Recommended. |

Årets roskilde var best. Ingen protest.

Leather-pants, Harley Davidson and "Breaking the law", all in place for the Judas Priest-gig tonight at Bergenshallen. I bit too much haze for my taste, but luckily I got some good stuff out of it. Beautiful audience as well.
Only three days left until QOTSA and Foo Fighters! |

Bergenfest was helluvalot work, but great fun as well. I covered 31 shows, starting with the Dirty Dozen Brass Band at Grieghallen and ending with Patti Smith at Ole Bull Scene. It's all up on Festivalfoto.no. |

The old guy himself during concert. The lighting reflected the rest of the show perfectly - Nice, but boring in the long run.
But what can you say; he's a classic, a legend and a great guitarist still. I'm just too used to these younglings jumping around on stage. |
